Yes it was crazy. we left Montelimar on the pacific ocean on Nov 10th @ 5am. This early and it already was hot and humid. The heat was horrible but we kept going. The heat always gives me a headache so I kept asking for cold water to pour it over my head every time we took a break. This had some in the support team/crew worried. They thought that pouring cold water over my head was going to make me sick. I new it would not make me sick because I had already tried it many times in training. By 10am the heat made it really tough to keep going but we did. A few days later Mauricio, one of the runners, said that me and Chuck, another runner, had tried to kill him with the pace we kept for about 15 hours and 50 miles. ABOUT 9pm we arrived @ Best Western Hotel in Managua our stop for day one. I tried to eat some after we stopped for the night but could not do it. finally about 10:30 pm I could stomach some food and after a nice warm shower I got in bed about 11pm.
